Bidtopia prides itself as being a seller-friendly site. We're here to help you serve
your business, not run it for you. You're allowed to post hyperlinks, phone numbers
and web addresses to your private on-line store, website or even competing formats
like Amazon and eBay auctions.
Real Buyers
Bidtopia also ensures the reputation of its buyers. We qualify our buyers by verifying
them with a credit card or Paypal account. That way we can uniquely identify them
and be completely aware of any malicious behavior. Once a Bidtopia buyer fails to
pay for over 10% of their won items, the buyer is removed from the exchange and
banned from the site (while we don't guarantee the quality or performance of the
buyer, we seek to eliminate poor quality buyers).
Real Auctions
Bidtopia's traditional auction format is designed to mimic live auctions. Although
our auctions have an estimated ending time, bids that occur within the last 2 minutes
extend the ending time by one minute (commonly referred to as popcorn bidding).
We require all sellers on the exchange to adhere to our philosophy—specifically
that all auctions have no reserve and all auctions start at 99¢.
Real Sellers
Bidtopia thoroughly evaluates each prospective seller. To ensure a successful marketplace,
we hand select each seller through a comprehensive application process—including
online applications and personal interviews. All Bidtopia sellers must have previous
online retail or auction experience, as well as a legitimate business location.
Real Feedback
Bidtopia is the first to institute a revolutionary feedback system, which avoids
the "tit-for-tat" feedback system found on other auction sites. Feedback is automatically
left for buyers the moment they pay — or don't pay — for an auction. This eliminates
the fear that the seller has the ability to retaliate against a negative comment
left by a buyer. Each transaction a buyer completes will always result in feedback
based solely on their payment record, without the typical, "I'll-leave-you-a-positive-when-you-leave-me-one"
game. We don’t have time for tattle-tails or popularity contests.
Fee Structure
Bidtopia has a single flat-rate fee of 4.75% of final value sales price for any
item that sells on the exchange (regardless of store or auction format). There are
NO listing fees and NO monthly store fees. Bidtopia does, however, charge a small
transaction fee for items that fail to sell on the exchange.
